Ingredients

  • Frame (with or without mat, use shadow box if including flowers or insects)

  • Scrapbook Background Paper

  • Tarot Cards

  • Curated Decor (Quotes, Stickers, Flowers, Gold-Leafing, Wax Seal) optional

  • Necessary Odds and Ends: Scissors, Double sticky tape (or scrapbook/craft glue stick), wax or hot glue (if using flowers or insects)

Preparation

  1. Gather ingredients and prepare the work area. Consider the size of your frame, the layout and meaning of your cards as well as how the chosen decorations blend with the aesthetic and meaning of your artwork.

  2. When translating your layout into the finished product, remember to take a reference photo and start with the BOTTOM layer working your way up to the finishing touches.

  3. Starting with the background, cut the scrapbook paper to the size of your frame (confirm size and fit before moving onto the next step). If working with a mat, you can tape the scrapbook paper to the back of the mat so it doesn't wiggle while you work.

  4. Attach tarot cards and paper products using double sticky tape, layered from the bottom level to the top paying attention to your layout. If you're using flowers and or insects in a shadow box display you can use hot glue or wax (& seal) to secure the placement during your last steps of assembly.

  5. Confirm that the finished personalized art fits into your chosen frame, and secure hardware as needed.

  6. It's time to display or gift your creation! Hang on your wall or place your new piece of art proudly on your shelf to inspire and remind you of the beautiful meaning and time spent creating your unique piece of artwork.

Tips

TRUST THE PROCESS; use your reference photo and take your time applying each layer during the assembly process.

IT'S UP TO YOU: You can use any cards, backgrounds, and decorations you like to create your own meaningful creative pieces of wall art. I use cards from damaged and incomplete decks to make my art, but there is nothing stopping you from buying a new deck of tarot, oracle, or any other variety of card to connect and create with.
